ministries

We believe in an active faith. Jesus set an example for us by meeting the needs of the sick and the poor around Him. And since there is no shortage of needs in the world today, here are a few ways that you can work with us in serving people and meeting their needs...

International Student Friendship

Do you have room in your heart for one more friend? Would you make it an international student? ISFM is on the forefront of helping international students feel welcome at their university of choice. Moving to another country and trying to build a new community of friends can be very difficult. ISFM encourages Chi Alpha groups to get involved with internationals at their university by taking them out to meals, showing them around town, and helping them get settled in the dorms. Expeditions

Chi Alpha offers short-term and long-term missions opportunities to our university students both in the U.S. and overseas. We connect you with our Assemblies of God missionaries who help you in specific ministry outreaches. Most mission groups are established by campus pastors who put together a group of students from their university. In Chi Alpha, we encourage our students to give a year and pray about a lifetime of missions. To find out how your Chi Alpha group can go on a summer or spring break missions trip check out xamissions.com

community outreach

We encourage all Chi Alpha groups to get involved in their community. Here are just a few examples of what Chi Alpha groups around the nation have done...

  • helped Freshmen move into the dorms
  • found furniture and bicycles for international students
  • raked leaves for the elderly and disabled
  • assisted in local food pantry distribution to needy families and the homeless
  • Hurricane Katrina disaster relief
  • volunteered and raised money for compassion and relief agencies such as Relay for Life

Other ideas to get involved may be partnering with local Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Red Cross or Salvation Army events, or sponsoring a Convoy of Hope event in your area. Look for needs in your community and then share the love of Christ by serving.

This ministry isn't part of Chi Alpha, but we're definitely on the same team. If you're in the 18-35 demographic, but not in school, make sure to check them out.
